Thank you for visiting my page today. If you are looking for a counselor to work with, I hope that I can be of service to you.

I joined The ReGroup clinic in October of 2021, but I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2011. During these years, I have focused mainly on Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness. I believe that our “in the moment” awareness of thoughts and behaviors helps us shape how we live going forward as well as helping us deal with trauma and false narratives from our pasts.

I believe that dealing with trauma and false narratives is necessary in helping us move forward, which is why I also have been trained in EMDR. Specifically, I believe EMDR to be an effective approach in addressing trauma, and helping us understand why and how trauma affects how we think and behave.

I see my work as helping people solve puzzles, much in the same way the process works in putting together an actual jigsaw puzzle. We usually start with the corners and the border of puzzle to get context for how the internal structure of the puzzle will look. We continually refer back to the general picture of the puzzle to know how it should look, and I think that process parallels how we have a vision or goal of what we want our lives to look like that we refer back to on a regular basis. Goal setting and removing obstacles are two general approaches I use to help people solve puzzles, and I would be honored to help you solve your life puzzles.

My wife, Katy, and I have been married for 26 years, and we have a son, Gabriel, who is 16. Besides being a counselor, I enjoy performing music, and performing in local theater shows. I am a nationally certified dog trainer and behaviorist, and I enjoy helping people work toward having well-behaved dogs. I am also a Level I archery instructor with USA Archery Organization, and I love to target shoot every chance I get. I find so many benefits in using my hands for all kinds of work, from music to dog training to basic carpentry work.

Thank you for taking a few minutes to learn a little more about me. Again, if I can be of service to your family and you, please contact our offices, and make an appointment. I will look forward to having the opportunity to work with you. Take care.
