
Jim Galyan is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s of Science Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Harding University. He has worked as a therapist and clinical director in residential and outpatient treatment settings. Jim works with individuals, couples and families, specializing in innovative techniques to serve those struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, chemical and sexual addiction or those who want to get to the next level in life.
Jim is a Certified Trauma Therapist (CTT) using creative, experiential and spiritual techniques to help clients heal from trauma. He is also trained to use both Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and Brainspotting (BSP) to help resolve trauma, emotional distress, cognitive dissonance, somatic conditions and performance enhancement.
As a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist (CSAT), he uses this certification to work with clients struggling with sexual addiction and dysfunction, as well as their family members who have been impacted. In addition to this certification, Jim has also been trained in sex therapy to help couples work toward healthy sexuality. He is an active member of International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP) .
He also is a Certified Multiple Addiction Therapist (CMAT) trained to work with chemical addictions, process addictions, compulsions, and some eating disorders. Treating the complexities of how these issues can often interact.
Jim frequently works with individuals, couples and families with fractured sense of self or relational conflict, utilizing experiential approaches from attachment theory Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
Therapy is practiced in a relational style with an integrative model approach.
